Bhubaneswar - The 'Temple City of India', was once the capital of an ancient kingdom. Today this bustling centre of commerce and religion is Orissa's modern
capital. It forms an integral link in the Golden Triangle that includes the holy cities of Puri and Konark. It is also the Gateway City of tourists who come here to experience the
religious, cultural and natural wonders.
Puri - The holy city of Puri, 60 km from Bhubaneswar, is one of the four holiest points of pilgrimage for Hindus. The reigning deity of the city, Lord Jagannath, whose temple was built way back in the 12th century, is revered by thousands of pilgrims from all over the country. The other important feature of Puri is its beautiful beach, which has offered
pleasure to both pilgrims and swimmers for centuries. It is one of the most delightful white beaches in the country.
Konark - The third link of Orissa's Golden Triangle, Konark, 35 km from Puri, has some of the most spectacular examples of religious architecture. The glorious 13th century
Konark Temple, dedicated to the sun god (Surya), has been designated as an UNESCO World Heritage Monument. The temple, conceived as a massive chariot, hauling the sun god across the
heavens by the might of seven splendidly carved horses, standing aloft on 24 chariot wheels intricately carved and symbolizing the march of time, lies in partial ruin at Konark beach.
Day 1: Arrival At Bhubaneswar
Arrive at Bhubaneswar, transfer to hotel. Half day sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar includes 11th to 13th century A.D Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple, Mukteswar
Temple, Dhauli peace pagoda, 2nd century B.C, Jain monk caves at Khandagiri & Udaygiri, etc.
Day 2: Bhubaneswar – Konark – Puri - Bhubaneswar
After breakfast proceed to Konark, enroute visiting the famous Pipili appliqué village. Konark Sun temple is world famous for its architectural style, and attract
number of tourists from the different corner of India and abroad. Drive from Konark to Puri on the marine drive. Puri is famous for Lord Jagannath temple and golden beach. Return to
Bhubaneswar in the evening or stay over night at puri.
Day 3: Bhubaneswar – Chilka - Taptapani
Drive to Chilka Lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia. During winter, from December to February an island called Nalabana inside the lake is full of
migratory birds from Siberia. Two hours cruise by boat is required to reach Nalabana Island. Evening proceed from Chilka to Taptapani, natural hot sulphur spring.
Day 4: Taptapani – Chandragiri - Bhubaneswar
Visit the Tibetan village, carpet-weaving center. After lunch depart for Bhubaneswar.
Day 5: Bhubaneswar
From Bhubaneswar we will go to Udaygiri, Lalitgiri and Ratnagiri, the triangle of Buddhist monasteries dating back to 8th century AD. Visit the two museums, with
excellent collection from the sites of Ratnagiri and Lalitgiri.
Day 6: Departure
Transfer to airport for next destination. Tour ends.
